MERRY CHRISTMAS

Merry Christmas! We hope that everyone spent it with loved ones, and if you weren't able to, that they were thinking of you as much as you were thinking of them.
Family (and Latino) tradition is for the family to get together on Christmas Eve for dinner and merriment. As is our tradition, our family gathered at tias Norma's and Alma's house. We had the typical Mexican tamales and other great foods. After dinner, there were 3 different types of cakes that Libertad made, and they were all DELICIOUS! After a while, the kids couldn't resist anymore and we let them open some of their presents. They were sooooo happy.

Abriendo la caja

Here's a picture of Sofia we like a lot. It was taken at the park at the Williams Tower. It's converted to black and white because everything just seems cooler in black and white. Sofia's week was uneventful, except for going to the doctor's office for a check up. She was scared she was going to get a shot, but once she was convinced she wasn't, she was the cutest, most perfect little patient you would ever hope to see. On Saturday, she played and danced all day with her mommy and her cousin Cecilia, until it was time to go to cousin Melissa's confirmation mass. After mass, the family went to tia's house for dinner. On Sunday, after the traditional morning trip to the supermarket for the week's groceries, Sofia's papi (yours truly) lit some mesquite charcoal and grilled fajitas, short ribs and chicken. Sofia especially loved the short ribs. Sofia's cousins were all here, so after they ate, they played the whole afternoon inside and outside. They all had a great time.
Sofia is not going to her babysitter's house this week because the babysitter is in Orlando. She took her grandaughter to Disney, and they're gone the whole week, actually, until the 27th. But it worked out better for Sofia because her mommy is also on vacation, and this being Thanksgiving week, her papi only has to work until Wednesday. We're going to spend Thanksgiving at tio Rene's house, and maybe if Sofia is good, she'll get to spend the night.

Esta es una foto de Sofia que nos gusta mucho. Rudy la tomó en el parque de la fuente (Williams Towers). La puso en blanco y negro por que todo se ve mas fino en blanco y negro. La semana de Sofia pasó sin novedades, excepto por la visita a el doctor para un chequeo. Tenía miedo de que le pusieran una vacuna, pero cuando se aseguró que asi no sería, se porto de lo mejor. El sábado jugó y bailó todo el día con su mami (osea yo, jajaja) y su prima Cecilia hasta que fué hora de irse a la misa de confirmación de Melissa (prima de Rudy). Despues de la misa toda la familia fué a casa de las tias a cenar. El domingo en la mañana, despues de hacer mercado, Rudy prendió el carbón y se puso a hacer una parrilla de lo mas rica: pollo, fajitas (falda) y costillitas. As Sofia le gustaron las costillas particularmente. Todos los primos estaban aqui también y jugaron toda la tarde adentro y afuera de la casa hasta más no poder. Se divirtieron mucho.

Sofia no va a ir a casa de su Momo (la señora que la cuida) esta semana porque Momo está en Orlando. Llevó a su nieta a Disney y van a estar allá hasta el 27. Como quiera funcionó mejor asi por que yo voy a estar de vacaciones y como es la semana de acción de gracias Rudy solo tiene que trabajar hasta el miércoles. Tenemos planeado pasar acción de gracias en casa de tio Rene y si Sofia se porta bien a lo mejor se puede quedar a dormir allá con su prima Kristina. Hola!

Time flies! It doesn't seem like a month has passed since the last entry. Not much has changed. Sofia is still cute. She still likes candy. She still loves "The All-American Rejects". She still loves watching cartoons in the morning. And reading books. And coloring. And many other things.

Soccer season is over. She had some ups and downs, but overall, it was a good experience. After the last game, the coach gave the kids a medal and then treated them to a pizza party. She had fun and was so proud of her medal. She wore it everyday for a week!

Halloween came and went, and Sofia had a great time going out trick-or-treating. She was a princess. Her best friend Clarissa came by to say hello, and then we went to tio Rene's house to hit the streets for the good stuff. Her friend Molly came, and so did a new little friend named Matt. Kristina was a darling witch, but Renecito stole the show with his Captain Hook outfit. We all had a great time.

November is the beginning of a busy time, as it is for everyone. We'll try to keep this up much better, but no promises!

Epale mi gente. Octubre se nos fué volando, parece mentira que ya pasó un mes. Por aqui todo chevere, no mucho ha cambiado. La Sofi sigue linda (modestia aparte). Todavia le gustan los dulces. Y el rock, especialmente el grupo "The All American Rejects". Ver comiquitas en la mañana. Sus libros. Coloriar y muchas cosas más.

Parece mentira pero la temporada de fútbol ya se acabó. Sofia tuvo sus altibajos, pero dentro de todo, creo que fué una buena experiencia para ella. Después de el último juego el entrenador le regaló una medalla a cada niño y luego los invitó a comer pizza. Sofia se divirtió mucho y estaba muy orgullosa de su medalla. No se la quitó como por una semana.

Halloween también se fué volando. Sofi se divirtió mucho. Este año se disfrazó de princesa. Su amiguita Clarissa la vino a saludar y luego nos fuimos a casa de Tio Rene para que los primos salieran juntos a pedir dulces. Su amiguita Molly (otra princesa) y un nuevo amiguito que se llama Matt (Batman) tambien fueron con nosotros. Su prima Kristina era una bella brujita, pero fué Renecito quien se robó el show con su disfraz de El Capitán Garfio. Todos gozamos un pullero.

Noviembre es, usualmente, un mes bien ajetreado. Espero poder mantener el sitio más al día, pero no prometo nada!

Fall update/En que andamos

Fall is here, but it's still hot! Sofia had her first soccer game, and it didn't go as good as we had hoped. She had a hard time understanding the whole "team" concept. She likes to kick the ball, but when she lost control of it, she would stop running, cross her arms, and stand there pouting. Looking back, though, it was pretty funny. The second game was a comedy of errors. Good thing they don't keep score or they would have run out of numbers. The third game was better. Even though the other team was bigger and better, all the kids managed to make it through without crying and it seemed like they had a great time! Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!!! You take your victories where you can get them.

Hola! Ya es octubre, lo pueden creer? Supuestamente es otoño por estos lares, pero todavía hace un calor! Sofia tuvo su primer partido de fútbol y no le fue tan bien como esperabamos. Le costó un poco entender el concepto de jugar en "equipo". Le gustó mucho darle a la pelota, pero cuando se la quitaban dejaba de correr, cruzaba los brazos y se paraba alli haciendo pucheros! En realidad fue de lo mas cómico! El segundo partido fue la comedia de los errores. Menos mal que no llevan cuenta de los puntos por que se les hubiesen acabado los numeros! jajajaja. El tercer partido estuvo mucho mejor. Aunque los jugadores de el otro equipo estaban más grandes y jugaban mejor, el partido culminó sin que nadie llorara y parecía que todos se habían divertido. Bieeeeeeee!!!! Eso es lo importante no?

A Soccer Star is Born!/ Nace una estrella del fútbol !

Sofia started soccer this past week. At first, she wasn't to keen about playing soccer, but once she saw the soccer shoes, she said she wanted to play. We got her the cleats she wanted, along with the shinguards and a soccer ball, and she looked so cute! But when it came to going to her first soccer practice, Sofia tried to back out. She said she didn't want to play soccer after all. She was worried the other kids wouldn't like her, or that she would be the slowest one out there. We told her that since she didn't want to play, there was no need for her cleats, so we were going to return them to the store. That convinced her to give soccer a try, and she's glad she did! She LOVED it! Her best friend Clarissa is on the team also. Their first game is going to be Saturday the 16th. They can't wait to play again. I think we have the beginnings of a soccer star!

Sofia empezó sus prácticas de fútbol la semana pasada. Al pricipio como que le quería sacar el cuerpo, pero cuando vio los zapatos (se llaman tacos, no?) en la tienda dijo que si quería jugar. Le compramos los que le gustaron (rosados!) junto con una pelota y los protectores de las piernas, y se veía tan linda! Pero cuando llegó la hora de ir a la primera práctica se hechó para atrás. Dijo que los otros niños no la iban a querer y que iban a correr más rápido que ella. Entonces nosotros le dijimos que estaba bien, que no tenia que jugar, pero que entonces ya no habia necesidad de tener los zapatos y que los teníamos que devolver. Con eso bastó para que cambiara de opinión y dijo que si quería ir. Y que creen? le encantó! Clarissa, su mejor amiguita tambien está en el equipo. El primer juego es el sabado 16 de Septiembre. Están de lo más emocionadas. Yo creo que este es el nacimiento de una estrella del fútbol!

Party Weekend

Labor Day weekend was fun. Sofia's grandmother, or tita, Sylvia had a birthday on September 1st. On Saturday, Sofia helped her mommy bake a cake for her tita's party. The party was here, at Sofi's house, and a lot of people came. Sofia played outside with her cousins and her friend Diana, who brought her puppies Lucky and Spike. Sofia doesn't really like to get too close to them. Inside, after everyone ate, tita Sylvia cut the cake, and then opened her presents. Everyone had a great time.
Sunday, Sofia went with her mom, who went to the nail salon to do, well, her nails! Sofia wanted her to paint them red, but mommy opted for a french manicure. The rest of the day, Sofia relaxed by playing in her room, watching movies, and eating one of her favorite foods, lemon pepper chicken wings from Wingstop.
Monday was Karina's birthday, so we went to tias Norma's and Alma's house for breakfast. Sofia's cousins were there also, so they all had a good time playing, running around, and jumping on Meli's boyfriend, David. And of course, eating cake! Later that afternoon, Sofia went outside with her mommy and rode her bike around the neighborhood. All in all, it was a fun, relaxing weekend.

El pasado fin de semana estuvo de lo mejor. Era fin de semana largo, por que era el Dia de el Trabajador. Una de las abuelas de Sofia, tita Sylvia, celebró su cumpleaños el primero de Septiembre. El sábado Sofia ayudo a su mami a hacer una torta (pastel) para la fiesta de su tita. La fiesta fue aqui en la casa de Sofia y mucha gente vino a celebrar. Sofi jugó afuera con sus primas y con su amiguita Diana, que trajo a sus perritos Lucky y Spike. Aunque la verdad es que a Sofia no le gusta que se le acerquen mucho! Después que todos los invitados comieron, tita Sylvia picó la torta y abrió sus regalos. Todos la pasaron muy bien.

El domingo Sofia acompañó a su mami a hacerse las uñas. Ella quería que se las pintara rojas pero mami se las quería hacer a la francesa. El resto de el día Sofia jugó en su cuarto, vió peliculas y comió una de sus cosas favoritas, alitas de pollo con sabor a limón y pimienta.

El lunes fue el cumpleaños de Karina (prima de Rudy) entonces fuimos a casa de tia Norma y tia Alma a celebrar con un desayuno. Los primos de Sofi tambien estaban allí y todos se divirtieron mucho jugando, corriendo y brincando encima de David, el novio de Melissa (otra prima de Rudy). Y claro, comiendo torta! En la tarde Sofi salió con su mami a manejar su bicicleta alrededor de la casa.

En fin, fue un fin de semana muy agradable.

Sofia's week/La semana de Sofia

Sofia had an exciting week. It started with a trip downtown to Minute Maid Park with her best friend Clarissa (their mommies went also) to see the Astros play the Cubs. She wanted something to eat when we got there so she had some french fries, a hot dog and a Sprite. She cheered loudly for her Astros, but they lost. She still had a great time. The next couple of days, she spent them going back and forth to Home Depot with her daddy trying to fix the kitchen sink. No word on when that will be completed. Maybe tomorrow, who knows?!?! Anyway, Friday evening, her cousins Kristina and Rene came to play, and they had a great time. When it was time for her cousins to go, Sofia tagged along and spent the night at Kristina's house. On Saturday, Sofia came home, and this time Kristina tagged along, and they went to the pool. They were there for only about 10 minutes, though, before they had to get out of the water due to a lighting storm that rolled through. They were very disappointed. Sunday's weather turned out better though, and Sofia went to the beach in Galveston. She looooooooves the beach. She had an awesome time. She got in the water, ran all over the beach, made a sand castle, dug a hole with her mommy, and just generally had a blast! After a couple of hours of this, we had lunch and then drove home. She was out like a light 2 minutes after getting in the car. Can you blame her? It was an exciting day.

Sofia tuvo una semana muy emocionante. Comenzo con una excursion a el Campo de Beisbol Minute Maid con su mejor amiga Clarissa (y sus mamis tambien) a ver a los Astros jugar contra los Chicago Cubs. Cuando llegamos Sofi quizo algo de comer, entonces se comio un perro caliente (como los que te gustan a ti Pilar!), unas papitas fritas y un refresco. Sofi vitoreo a todo pulmon a los Astros, pero al final perdieron. Como quiera Sofia la paso muy bien. El resto de la semana se la paso de ida y vuelta a la ferreteria con su papi tratando de arreglar el fregadero. Quien sabe cuando lo terminaran de arreglar. A lo mejor mañana, quien sabe? Luego el Viernes en la noche sus primos Kristina y Rene vinieron a jugar. Se divirtieron mucho y cuando ya se iban, Sofi quizo irse a dormir a la casa de sus primos. El Sabado Kristina se vino a la casa con Sofia y fueron a la piscina. Lo unico malo es que apenas tenian 10 minutos en el agua cuando se vino una tormenta electrica y se tuvieron que salir de el agua (osea nos botaron de la piscina jajajaja). Como se imaginan, estaban de lo mas tristes. El Domingo el tiempo estuvo mejor entonces Sofia fue a la playa en Galveston. A la señorita fru fru (a la grande y a la chiquita!) le encanta la playa! La paso fabulosamente bien. Se metio en el agua sin deberla ni temerla, corrio por toda la playa, hizo un castillo de arena, un hueco con su mami, y se divirtio hasta mas no poder. Luego fuimos a comer y despues nos fuimos a la casa. Sofi estaba tan cansada que se quedo dormida inmediatamente nos montamos en el carro. La culpan?

Today we went to the neighborhood pool and Sofia's cousin, Cecilia, joined us. The girls had a great time swimming, jumping and splashing around. There's not a whole lot of things better than a lazy summer day at the pool. Click here to see the rest of the photos from today.

On Saturday, Sofia went to the zoo. She had a great time. She loved seeing all the different animals, but she really liked the snakes. For lunch, she ate a turkey leg. She loves turkey legs! She also enjoyed riding the carousel and riding on her daddy's shoulders. Afterwards, she had a Dora ice pop by the park's lake while mommy had a lemon flavored one. It was a fun day.

El Sabado pasado Sofia fue a el zoologico. La paso muy bien. Le gusto mucho ver todos los animales, pero le encanto ver las culebras. De almuerzo, se comio un muslo de pavo. Le encantan! Tambien le gusto mucho montarse en el carrusel y andar en los hombros de su papi. Despues, cerca de el lago de el parque, se comio un helado de Dora y mami se comio uno de limon. Fue un dia muy divertido.

Summer Update/Verano 2006

A lot has happened since last time; cousin Rene's birthday party, papi's birthday, 4th of July, and Sofia & mommy getting hit by a car! Yes, but thank goodness they are ok. Sofia and Clarissa, her bestest friend in the whole world, went to a water park called Schlitterbahn in Galveston and had a great time, but when they left, they were struck by a car as they were crossing the street. The man driving the car was obviously not looking, but good thing he wasn't going fast, or else something really bad might have happened. They all sustained assorted scratches and bruises, but no broken bones. For the girls, the ambulance trip to the hospital was scarier than the actual accident. But they are very jumpy around cars now.

Sofia is really growing. She has really gotten good at using the computer. She has 3 websites that she likes to go to and play games at. Her favorites are at Disney Playhouse, Sesame Street, and Discovery Kids. Playing their games has improved Sofia's hand-eye coordination, reasoning skills, and patience. She's a smart little cookie, but she hates to fail. It seems that if she can't do something the first time, she gets frustrated and quits trying. Playing the games has taught her to keep trying even if she doesn't get it right the first time.

Muchas cosas han pasado desde la ultima vez que actualizamos la pagina; el cumpleaños de primo Rene, el cumpleaños de Papi, el 4 de Julio y el dia en que a Sofia y a mami les pego un carro. Asi fue, pero tranquilos que gracias a Dios estan bien. Sofia y Clarissa, su mejor amiguita en todo el mundo, fueron a un parque acuatico llamado Schlitterbahn en Galveston. La pasaron de maravilla, pero al salir de el parque un carro les pego cuando iban cruzando la calle. El conductor obviamente no iba prestando atencion, pero afortunadamente no iba muy rapido de lo contrario algo muy malo pudo haber pasado. Todas sufrieron una variedad de raspones y golpes, pero ninguna fractura. Para las niñas, el traslado en la ambulancia resulto mas traumatizante que el accidente en si. Lo unico es que ahora se ponen un poco nerviosas cuado estan cerca de carros.

En otro tema, Sofia esta creciendo bastante y ha aprendido a manejar muy bien la computadora. Hay tres sitios web a los que le gusta ir a jugar. Sus favoritos son Disney Playhouse, Sesame Street (Plaza Sesamo) y Discovery Kids. Estos juegos le han ayudado a mejorar su coordinacion visual, razonamiento y paciencia. Sofia es inteligente, pero no le gusta fallar. Pareciera que si no puede hacer algo perfectamente la primera vez, se frustra y deja de intentarlo. Estos jueguitos le han enseñado a seguir intentando aunque se equivoque la primera vez.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SOFIA!!!!/FELIZ CUMPLEAÑOS SOFIA!!!

Yesterday Sofia turned 4. She had been counting the days, and was so excited about her party. She is really into Disney's Playhouse website, and she wanted a Minnie Mouse piñata. Here she is with it and with her cousins and friends. Aunt Kim and uncle Rene made the cake, it was delicious. The kids had a blast playing in the bouncy castle. They also played on the swings and in Sofia's play house. Sofia and the kids then went and hit the piñata. Kristina finished off the piñata and all of the candy came out. All the kids grabbed as much as they could, but Sofia only wanted the yellow boxes of Bops. Everyone then went inside so Sofia could blow out the candles on her cake. She then proceeded to open up all her presents. She loved them all. She was very happy and thankful for all that she got. Then all the kids went back out to jump in the castle, and this time, mami joined in the fun!

Sofia said she had the best time ever, which is really what this was all about.

Sofia cumplio 4 años ayer. Habia estado contando los dias y estaba muy emocionada por su fiesta. Ahorita le gusta mucho jugar en la computadora en el sitio web de Disney, entonces queria una piñata de Minnie Mouse. Aqui la pueden ver con la piñata y sus primos y amigos. La torta la hicieron su tia Kim y su tio Rene, estaba deliciosa. Todos los niños se divirtieron muchisimo brincando el el castillo inflable. Tambien jugaron en los columpios y en la casita de Sofia. Luego Sofi y los niños le dieron a la piñata. Kristina la termino de romper y todos los caramelos se salieron. Todos los niños agarraron lo mas que pudieron, pero Sofia solo queria las cajitas de gomitas. Luego todos entramos para cantar cumpleaños y que Sofia soplara las velitas. Despues Sofia procedio a abrir sus regalos. Todos los regalos le gustaron mucho y estaba muy contenta y agradecida por todo lo que le regalaron. Luedo todos los niños volvieron a salier a brincar en el castillo y esta vez mami los acompaño!

Sofia dijo que se habia divertido muchisimo, que realmente es lo mas importante.

Blizzard

This is "Blizzard", Sofia's "cat". She named him Blizzard because that is the name of our neighbor's cat, whom she is particularly fond of. She uses a Mardi Gras necklace as a chain and "walks" Blizzard everywhere she goes.

Este es "Blizzard" el "gato" de Sofia. Le puso ese nombre por que asi se llama el gato de nuestros vecinos y a ella le gusta mucho ese gatito. Sofi usa un collar de plastico como si fuese una cadena y "pasea" a Blizzard por todos lados.

Sofia is learning to ride the bicycle she got for Christmas, and with the awesome weather we've had lately, she's been going out with her mommy and practicing alot. She had an accident on Sunday, but she's ok. Her friend Diana was riding the bike and Sofia was standing on the training wheels and fell off. She skinned her left knee and got a huge bruise on her leg. That's how you learn.

Sofia esta aprendiendo a manejar la bicicleta que le dimos en Navidad. Con el clima tan agradable que hemos tenido ultimamente, ha estado saliendo con su mami y practicando bastante. El domingo pasado tuvo un accidente pero no fue nada grave. Su amiguita Diana estaba manejando la bicicleta y Sofia estaba parada en las rueditas de atras y se cayo. Se raspo la rodilla y le salio un moreton en la pierna. Asi es que se aprende!

Easter Sunday/Domingo de Pascua

Today we celebrated Easter Sunday at Tia's house. All the usual people were there. Tia Norma grilled steaks out in the back yard. They were delicious. Sofia and her cousins had a great time hanging out in the hammock, blowing bubbles, and looking for Easter eggs. Poor Little Rene didn't find as many!

Hoy celebramos el Domingo de Resurreccion (o de Pascua como dicen por aqui) en casa de las Tias de Rudy. El grupito de siempre estaba alli. Tia Norma hizo una parrilla en el patio de atras. Le quedo deliciosa. Sofia y sus primas la pasaron de lo mejor meciendose en la hamaca (que mi mama le trajo de Venezuela a las tias), haciendo burbujas de jabon, y buscando los huevitos de pascua. Scary night

Sofia was under the weather. On Wednesday, she had an infection in both ears and also of the upper respiratory system. Early this morning around 3 a.m. she had an attack of croup. It is not the first time it's happened, but it is still scary and very stressful for both her and for us. We went in the bathroom and closed the door and ran the hot water to steam up the room, even though I saw or read something about that not really helping. The main thing is we tried to keep her calm. After about 25 minutes in there, we went out to the living room to try to keep her calm because she kept asking for the "doctors" to come and cure her. The "doctors" she was refering to were the paramedics who came the first time she had croup. We kept telling her they were on their way to keep her calm, and I turned on the t.v. and put it on The Disney Channel to distract her. She calmed down watching cartoons, and eventually fell asleep sometime around 4:30 a.m. She had a little bit of a cough to go along with her ear infection, so I stayed home with her. She woke up again before 7, and we watched a movie, played in her room, "read" a book, and seperated the junk mail from the stuff that has to be filed or shredded. All that by 11 a.m.

Sofia estuvo un poquito enferma. El miercoles descubrimos que tenia una infeccion en los dos oidos y en las vias respiratorias. La lleve a el doctor el jueves y le dieron medicinas. Hoy como a las tres de la mañana le dio un ataque de laringitis infantil (croup). No es la primera vez que le da, pero aun asi es bien estresante para los tres. Nos metimos en el baño y prendimos el agua caliente para que el vapor la ayudara a respirar. Lo mas importante es tratar de calmarla. Nos quedamos en el baño como por 25 minutos y despues nos fuimos a la sala. Ella preguntaba por los doctores y pedia que vinieran a curarla. Los "doctores" son los paramedicos que vinieron la otra vez que le dio un ataque. Le dijimos que estaban en camino para que se calmara y le prendimos la tele y le pusimos comiquitas. Con eso se calmo mas y se quedo dormida como a eso de las 4:30 AM. En la mañana todavia tenia tos entonces Rudy se quedo con ella en la casa. Cuando desperto como a las 7, vieron una pelicula, jugaron en su cuarto, leyeron un libro y separaron el correo. Todo eso antes de el medio dia. Que productivos!

Opening Day April 3rd 2006

Going to Opening Day is a tradition in our family. We have gone to every Opening Day except one since 1999. Sofia has been to 3 out of 4. On Monday, we went to this year's Opening Day. We went to the ballpark early to enjoy the pre-game festivities. We had hot dogs and french fries at the Home Plate Bar and Grill across the street. Sofia loves hot dogs, but she loves french fries even more. We then entered the stadium about two hours before game time and went to the gift shop. Sofia wanted a pink mini-bat, and she also got a pink Astros pennant for her room. She cheered during the player introductions and the raising of the National League pennant, then promptly fell asleep. She took a nice nap, about 4 innings long, then woke up in time to get some more french fries and cheer the team to victory. She was so excited! In the middle of the Astros' rally, with the whole stadium yelling and screaming and going crazy, she turned to her mommy and said "I love this".

Ir al primer juego de la temporada de beisbol es una tradicion en nuestra familia. Hemos asistido a cada juego de apertura de temporada desde el 1999 excepto uno. Sofia a ido a 3 de los ultimos 4! Ayer lunes, fuimos al primer juego de esta temporada. Llegamos temprano a el estadio para disfrutar de los festejos antes de que empezara el juego. Comimos perros calientes y papas fritas en el Home Plate Bar and Grill que esta en frente de el estadio. A Sofia le encantan los perros calientes pero las papas fritas le gustan aun mas. Luego entramos al estadio, como dos horas antes de que comenzara el juego y fuimos al la tienda de souveniers. Sofia quiso un mini-bate rosado y un banderin rosado de los Astros para su cuarto. La Sofi hizo muchas porras durante la introduccion de los jugadores y cuando izaron el banderin de la Liga Nacional e inmediatamente se quedo dormida. Se tomo una buena siesta, como de 4 entradas, y luego se desperto a tiempo para buscar mas papitas fritas y ver al equipo ganar. Estaba tan entusiasmada! Cuando el estadio estaba a reventar, en medio del vitoreo y los gritos, Sofia se voltea y le dice a su mami " me encanta esto".

Sofia's weekend - el fin de semana de Sofia

Sofia's weekend went well. Saturday morning, she helped her mom and dad do a little yard work, but mostly she played in the back yard. Later that afternoon, her dad and uncles did some backyard grilling, and she played in the backyard with her cousins until the sun went down. Sunday morning Sofia woke up in a good mood and watched cartoons in mom and dad's bed. She later went to Walmart to do the weekly grocery shopping where she met the Rocket's mascot Clutch. When she got back home, she watched "Toy Story", for like the 897th time, and then she went back outside to help her mom and dad do some more yard work. Of course, she played with her swing set more than she helped, but who's counting. After finishing playing, er, working, she watched television with her dad while her mom prepared dinner. Dinner was brisket, mashed potatoes, and squash. She then took a shower and fell asleep watching t.v. All in all, it was a good weekend.

Sofia la paso muy bien este fin de semana. El sabado en la mañana le ayudo a su mama y a su papa a limpiar el patio, pero mas que nada se la paso jugando. En la tarde, su papa y sus tios hicieron una parrilla y ella jugo en el patio con sus primos hasta que se metio el sol. El domingo en la mañana se desperto de buen humor y vio comiquitas en la cama de mama y papa. Despues fue a Walmart a hacer el mercado de la semana donde conocio a la mascota de los Rockets, Clutch. Cuando regreso a la casa se puso a ver la pelicula "Toy Story" como por la quincuajecima vez y despues volvio a salir a el patio a ayudar a su papa y mama a seguir limpiando el patio. Claro, ella jugo mas en sus columpios que lo que ayudo, pero que importa. Despues de jugar, digo, trabajar, vio television con su papa mientras su mama preparaba la cena. La cena fue brisket, pure de papas y calabacin. Luego se baño y se quedo dormida viendo la tele. Fue un excelente fin de semana.
