Opening Day for the Astros was last Monday, the 5th, and we had a great time. As some of you know, we go to Opening Day every year, it's become a family tradition. Libby and I started it in 1999, and since then we've only missed it once, in 2004, and that's because we were in Venezuela.
Anyway, the game itself was a downer, since the Astros lost, again. We did get to see Tim Lincecum pitch; he's one of the best in the majors, he's already won 2 Cy Young awards. As for the Astros, oh well, there's always next year.

Recap/Recuento

Hello there! It's been such a long time! Life has been crazy busy over at Casa Leal so there has been very little time to blog, unfortunately. Let's see, we left off in June, so since then lots of things have happened. First, on July 12th we had Miranda and her cousin Rene's baptism. Tita Maritza came back and my best friend Andrea, the Godmother, and her husband Cesar also came for the festivities. It was a beautiful ceremony, heartfelt and lovely. Afterward we all went to celebrate at my brother and sister in law's house. It was a wonderful party shared with dear family and friends.
After the baptism, Andrea and her husband stayed in town visiting for a few more days so we did some sightseeing with them. That was July.
The rest of the summer just flew by at lightning speed. The girls spent their summer at home with their adored Tita Maritza. We also went to the park, went swimming and to the beach. Then before we knew it, it was the start of the new school year. Sofia was nervous and excited about attending a new school. However, I am pleased to say that she has adapted very well and is doing great now. I am still getting used to being the mother of a second grader! (my baby!). She is beautiful and funny and a really wonderful big sister (most of the time). We love her to pieces.
And speaking of babies, Miranda is doing great. She is almost 11 months old and just so big. And believe it or not she is walking already! That is just so fast! She started crawling right around the middle of July and then started pulling up in August and now she is all out walking. Amazing how fast that went! She is active and mischievous, loving and sweet. We are crazy about her.
September was just as busy and Rudy and I worked hard on our photography business. Then came October with its beautiful weather. More glorious afternoons at the park, fall festivals, pumping carving and finally Halloween. At Sofia's request both girls dressed up as Little Red Riding Hood. I'll tell you, the cuteness almost killed us dead. SO adorable, I can't get over it! 800 pictures later we headed over to Rudy's cousin's house. We had a little get together and all the cousins got to go trick or treat together. It was so much fun! Good food, great company, glorious weather and happy kids. What else can we ask for? Nothing that is what.
And now here we are in November. Amazing. Before we know it, it will be Christmas and we'll be saying goodbye to another year. I am not ready yet! I am specially not ready to be 33! hahaha
Anyway, that is it for now. Here are the pictures!

Hola!! Tanto Tiempo!
No estoy lista todavia!

Mayo-Junio/ May-June

Well hello June! Can you believe it's June already? Crazy! The past few weeks have been a blur of activity at Casa Leal. May brought us warm weather, the last day of school, days at the park, the best Mother's Day I've ever had, and a visit to the airport to say goodbye to Tita Maritza. The good news is that it is a short goodbye, as she is coming back July 10th! We loved having her here all this time!
Sofia is now a second grader (sniff, my baby!). She will be going to a new school next year so her last day was bitersweet. She took a camera to school on her last day and took some very funny pictures. All in all, she had a great school year and we are very proud of her, she did great!
In other news, Miranda continues to grow like a weed. She is so cute and has the fattest little legs I have ever seen, she is divine! She is now 6 moths old and weights 17lbs 10 oz! She can now sit unassisted, it's so cute. She is absolutely crazy about Sofia, her big sister is by far her favorite person. She started eating solids and is doing well in that department. She is the sweetest baby ever. We are so happy she is here.
So far June has been just as busy. Right off the bat we had Sofia's first dance recital (a dream come true for me I must add) and she was fantastic! She did so well and looked adorable in her costumes! Later that week we went to an Astros game and had a good time. Then on her actual birthday we went to the movies and had lunch. Later in the evening she had 6 of her best friends from school came over for a "pretend" pajama-baking party (her idea!). The girls had pizza, pillow fights, decorated cupcakes and had a grand time (Rudy left the premises with Miranda before they wrecked havoc haha!). It was controlled chaos and a big mess, but also a lot of fun and Sofia was very happy.
Lastly, on the 13th we had a birthday party for her at home. All her cousins came and it was great. We all had a good time. I still can't believe my baby is 7 years old. It's been a privilege to be her mommy these 7 years. She is by far the greatest kid I know.
Anyway, here are a ton of pictures!

Hola Junio! Pueden creer que es ya Junio? Increible!
Sofia pasó a segundo grado (mi bebe!).
